‘Light’ Cafe Project, London, 2015

During years of work at Woods Bagot, Ana has worked on the project as Interior Designer. This design for a communal café was devised with an emphasis on a relaxed and social atmosphere in mind; the spacious 40-seater area with generously sized two and four people tables enables pairs and groups to meet for a drink and a discussion without the sense of being boxed in. As space in London is a luxury, and with many establishments packing their customers in to maximise revenue, the design of this arrangement aims to offer those that frequent the café the feeling of being valued and that they really are taking a step away from a densely populated and often fast-paced city.

Stacked windows at the café entrance allow for natural light to permeate throughout the space in order to maintain the cheerful atmosphere and to accentuate the feel of physical freedom conducive to one’s mental wellbeing.

This is achieved whilst ensuring, via efficient and sensible space planning, that the 50sqm is fully utilised and sufficiently filled with customers to prove financially viable.

Healthy hospitality, designed rationally.
