Farid House, Albion House, London, 2015

A site survey and building control drawings package were required by the client for the refurbishment of this existing site. Having been carried out and drawn up respectively, these were submitted to Building Control for approval.

The drawings package, extracts of which can be viewed on this page, included plans of the property as it was prior to any residential renovation works with dimensions that were measured and confirmed via the site survey. This allows for fixtures, fittings, joinery and other furnishings to be chosen appropriately (as regards their size and ability to fit) and installed with a minimum of issues.

3D modelling conveyed to the client what the property would resemble once the exterior had been refurbished. The Revit model displayed the building as it would appear based on certain client criteria made to meet well founded principles in architecture.

As well as presenting a virtual image of a finished project before works commence, 3D modelling provides reassurances as regards accuracy as it can, for example, confirm precision of roof angles and exact heights to help create correct existing elevations, sections and plans when used in conjunction with photos and a site survey. Solid internal plans in which one can place confidence require a strong review of a building’s externals.

Feedback received for the works carried out was overwhelmingly positive:

Sidorova Design provided very detailed existing site surveys with clear production drawings. Building Control checked the completed space planning package submission and the proposed internal refurbishment of the building was approved

A quick project that proved successful.
